What happens if your EA account is banned?
I was just given a 7 day ban for swearing at someone on BF 2042 for non stop ♥♥♥♥ talking in voice chat, it says future bans can be permanent and if so you're unable to use any online features OR BUY NEW GAMES. Well as you're unable to link your stem account to another EA account due to their rules... this would mean your permanently banned from ever playing or purchasing another EA game for as long as you live? Then what happens if you buy a Steam game that then uses the EA app as DRM?

You can turn off voice chat in Battlefield 2042 by going to the Options menu, selecting Sound, and then adjusting the Voice Chat settings to "Off." However, note that you cannot completely disable the voice chat moderation feature, but you can choose not to use voice chat while playing.

You're surprised that breaking the rules has actual real world consequences?

From EA's FAQ

Disabled or banned accounts

If your account has been disabled, banned, or suspended, you won’t be able to unlink your platform account from your EA Account.

If you need help with a disabled account, you can attempt to reset your password to re-enable your account and then continue with the unlinking steps above.

If you believe we made a mistake with a ban or suspension on your account that’s preventing you from unlinking, find out how to dispute it.

I swear all the time IRL, even at work but I have never been banned, shunned, disregarded, blocked, ostracized, exiled, blocked from purchasing etc.

I'm also shocked swearing is a 7 day ban, I'm more shocked a BAN in BF is a ban in all games, your account, purchasing new games... Like I could not buy a new EA game right now because of a BF ban...

"If you believe we made a mistake with a ban or suspension on your account that’s preventing you from unlinking, find out how to dispute it." SO if you're banned then you CAN NEVER unlink your steam account as this makes clear you have to dispute a ban and be unbanned before delinking steam, if you were perma banned for swearing, then your perma linked.

I'm 34, I'm British, I'm English, I'm Northern, I'm from Yorkshire, Sorry if I don;t compute swearing with destroying your entire gaming account, life, future to the point I feel like committing suicide...
I'm British, older than you and was also born in the north, I also swear at work. All of which is totally irrelevant.

You're failure to understand there are different situations where that behaviour is not acceptable and to read the terms of any agreement that set out acceptable behaviour and the consequences of breaking those terms is on you.

Solution : Don't get banned? Dunno that seems like an easier solution

Not that easy for someone like me. I like to swear, I get very competitive, I get very frustrated when i have 7 medics stood within 3m of my body and don't revive me, I've grown up all my life in northern England where swearing is harmless and natural. So no it's not as simple as don't get banned in this woke world of everything is a hate crime. Don't forget I'm Male as well so we generally find banter and swearing much more acceptable, but the rules are made to accommodate the most sensitive of people in gaming.

This strikes me that this is entirely a 'you' problem but you're blaming the enforcement of appropriate conduct rules but you magically want an exception? All you're doing is making excuses for your behavior.

if your behavior is getting you banned, change your behavior

The 'problem' is not "what happens if I get banned from EA'.

The 'problem' is "why can I not behave like a civilized human"
