msfs 2024 thru my Steam account

I haven't been able to use MSFS2024 for over a week now thru my Steam account. Can someone tell me why? Being new to MSFS2024 and NOT ever used MSFS2020 do I need a Game Pass? Never came up during install but some videos I've seen talks about it. Can someone help me to clear this up so that I can get back on the Sim? Please reply. This is frustrating and a lot of money used.

do you have your xbox live account linked to your steam account? if you look at the store page for the game, it shows that is a requirement to play

If you own the game on Steam, launch from your Steam Library, login to your Microsoft Account when prompted if you aren't signed in already and then launch the game through the launcher presumably already installed.

What seems to be the issue in not being able to play?

Aside from this not being the FS-2024 forum, you're generally much more likely to get a useful response if you actually describe the problem, instead of just going "it doesn't work".

When I launch the game from my screen using the Short Cut, it launches the program, music plays along with the video clips while its loading but never loads. Then I get an Xbox screen saying "Let's get you Signed In". I click on the green button at the bottom that says "Sign in" and it takes me to the Microsoft Sign-in page but doesn't allow me to input any information that its asking for. And that it! the only thing I can do is shut down my computer and I can do anything else.
