Problem with home button function on Steam

Hello. I have an old xbox pad, Win10. When i clicked the home button on my pad, the steam showed time, graphic card temperature, CPU temp, memory usage, etc. I could see my friends list and more. A game didnt pause. It didnt work the same like shortcut shift+tab when a game pauses.

Something changed a few weeks ago. There was some message in the steam client. Now my button doesn't work and I can't restore its previous function.

That doesn't sound like you're describing Steam, it sounds like the Xbox Game Bar to me.
Press Windows key + G and see if that's what you saw previously.

If it opens and it is the same overlay you saw before, go to Settings (cog wheel icon) > Shortcuts and check that 'Open Xbox Game Bar using the Xbox button on a controller' is ticked.

If Windows key + G doesn't open the Game bar, press Windows key, type: Enable Xbox Game Bar, then press Enter. From there you can turn the game bar on and also set the game bar to open with the Xbox button.

You may experience other things if you have Steam's Xbox driver installed (Home could open the game bar but Steam would also react to the button press) but can address that later. Try the stuff above, see if I was correct about it being the game bar etc.

You were right. It was the Xbox Game Bar. Now everything works as before.
