Gift card from european friend but I'm from another continent (solved)

I've heard reports that receiving gift cards or the codes from a different nation or currency won't validate so scammers won't be able to redeem the gift card. Is there some sort of way my friend could send me money to my steam wallet without unwanted interference?

Your friend can jsut wire you some money. Direct bank transfer, PayPal, there's non-steam options.

If you're insisting on transferring money through Steam, there's digital gift cards. They work (almost) world-wide.
