Games will not update until I verify integrity of files.
This happens with every game. They are all set to "Always keep this game updated" in the settings but what usually happens is I launch the game and get a matchmaking error. The updates will not start unless I verify integrity first. After the files are verified the updates start.

Sounds like system files have a checksum issue, or app cacuse this, are you OC or something like that.

You have windows check disk, and steams repair steam library.

Dont forget Drevs have firmware update from brand support maybe.
even RPM drevs sometimes has a tool app that fix OWN Brand drevs ( this is rare today but years ago such things could happend.

ps.
i assume cable and drev is not faulthy device that show signs for burnout.

Other windows system issue , check you dont have any just in case.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
SFC /Scannow
chkdsk c:
chkdsk d:
chkdsk e:
I'm going to test it because I think I realize what was going on. I figured it is probably not a PC issue because I built this computer 1 year ago. And it's not like I'm losing data and have to fix with verify integrity. It just so happens that verify integrity is the only thing I can use to manually trigger an update.

Even though Automatic Updates are on and 'Prioritize this game before other downloads' I also have Never allow background downloads. Which is what I want I don't want a large download while I'm playing a game online however I didn't realize I do have Cookie Clicker running basically at all times which is probably preventing the update because it would consider than a background download.
