(DOTA2)help! i am unable to bind to the low-latency server: net_option settings will not apply to loopback listenservers
I live in Singapore and experience high ping while playing Dota 2. The issue is that Dota 2 often automatically connects to high-ping relay servers, such as those in Paris, France, or Malaysia (even though I have selected the Southeast Asia server in the game's region settings and enabled 'Always allow games to share my IP' in the Steam network settings). To address this, I blocked these high-ping servers in my system firewall. However, after blocking them, Dota 2 still tries to connect to these servers during gameplay, causing me to disconnect intermittently due to the IP blocks. I often have to restart Steam multiple times to play normally. I tried entering the command net_option SDRClient_ForceRelayCluster = sgp in the console, but it displayed the message: 'net_option settings will not apply to loopback listenservers. To run a listenserver without loopback, select your map with "map foo loopback=0".' As a result, the attempt to bind the relay server to SGP (Singapore) failed, and the routing still automatically switches to high-ping servers (150ms and above) that I have blocked. I would appreciate help in resolving this issue of the relay server automatically switching and failing to bind to the Singapore server. Thanks guys!!
