if you could arbitrarily change a games play time from 1 thing to another or change it entirety it would be abused so isnt a thing.
Then you should have no trouble finding it in a couple of search queries.
Memory is a fickle thing, and very fallible. So while you may be 100% sure, until you actually find some evidence of that thing you think you remember, there's the potential your memory is just as fickle and faulty as everyone else's.
I would have to agree with eram. If play time could be manipulated like you imagine, then it would be abusable. And one of the ways it would be abused, or try to be abused would be gaming the refund system which relies on play time to gauge refund eligibility.
But again if you can find that resource to support your memory I'd love to see it. Although if it did exist I expect it would have been disabled in 2015ish at the latest when the refund system was implemented.
I don't know the argument but try this way:
- Open the location of the executable for the GOG version
- Create a new text file named steam_appid.txt
- Save the New Vegas appid in the file
- Add and run the NV GOG exe as a non-Steam game
For achievements I'm thinking it'll be another matter... maybe an achievement tracker that recognises GOG's and then triggers them Steam side???
