Locked Achievements

Greetings.
I recently start browsing games from my Library to see their achievements in order to determine if I should play the game to unlock them or not (based on how many they are), and I see that some games, like FarCry 3, have their achievements locked. I am not talking about them not being achieved, there is a "Lock" icon on top of the achievements.
So I wanted to ask, why does the achievements have a "lock" icon on them?

It just means you haven't unlocked them yet.

The functionality is the same so it doesn't really matter. Some of my games have locked achievements with the padlock, others left in black and white and some that are blurred or blank. It just depends how the developer is presenting locked achievements visually but the functionality is unchanged.

Ahhh ok. Good to know coz it would be bad spending hours downloading the game to complete achievements and not be able to do so :) thanks mate!

I think that it means that they are hidden achievements. This is done to avoid spoilers and the like when browsing achievements
