Controller Input Problems (Switch Pro & PS4)
I have a Nintendo Switch Controller connected via Bluetooth to my Chromebook Plus and it seems like Steam recognizes it as an Xbox Series S Controller. When I go to the general settings menu and the controller sub-menu I will deselect every controller but the Switch one, but it still says (and shows a picture of in the controller test) of the Xbox one. When I go into the properties of a specific game and the controller sub menu there it will have a blue dot next to the Xbox controller and I don't know if or how I can change that. This wouldn't be a problem except that the trigger buttons aren't working on the games I want to play and I think this is connected. I've also tried a PS4 controller and that didn't work either (with different buttons on that one not working).

Any suggestions?

You can map the triggers to work like you expect them to work

When I set them to a keyboard button they don't work in either the controller test or in the actual game.

Don't map them to keyboard buttons, map them to gamepad triggers.

With the Dualshock 4, always try disabling Steam Input first. Native Dualshock support (which a lot of games have thesedays) will always be better than Steam's controller emulation layer.

Also, most PC games which natively support the Dualshock will only map buttons exactly like the PS4 (including touchpad gestures) if you connect it with a USB cable, not bluetooth.
