Steam DLC

I have a game from "Family sharing" on Steam and I want to download a DLC for it, but I can't do it because Steam says I don't own the game and tells me to buy it, what should I do?

Nothing you can do. If its a free DLC you need to own the main game for it to register to your account.
If you only have the game via Steam Family Share then you cant add those free DLC.
Was always a problem with Family Share.
You can ask the person who owns the game to add that DLC to their account, then it should be shared to you also.
