Problem: Antivirus Program is rather ANGRY at Steam "exe" files?
Like the topic says. Yesterday was just fine, but tonight all of a sudden my AntiVirus program is going DiggNutts of saying "Warning! Running *X* steam game has been blocked because it's Riskware!" and this eventually resulted to doing any multiplayer game right now barred because of breaking games' exe files, causing major crashes, etc.

At first I thought it was only me suffering this random red-flagging of any and every single game being run right now as "riskware" and getting chopped off, but then it did it on my other, newer and better computer too! As if that wasn't enough (two), actually my sibling was the first one I caught having this issue first which just killed a game off in an instant last night, so this is making not one, nor two, but THREE computers some reason having AV programs flagging any and all Steam Games atm as "riskware" and breaking them. Is anyone else having this problem right now? :girl_cry:

Got no problems. Probably a false positive on your specific antivirus being used. Add exceptions to it, until they resolve it.

Is it only ones with anticheat because that functions the same as malware but with a different end goal in order to work

"Riskware" is generic AF and reeks of false-positive detection. Tell your AV to ignore the Steam folder, problem solved.
