Account not found :: Help and Tips
Hello,

My second account that I use for my son to play on has just disappeared. When I try and login with the account name and password it says wrong password. So I tried changing the password, even though I got the email account, steam name and password saved for many years on a notepad with all my other account details. (I can see my account name and details on my email connected to the accounts, I received a email from steam in June last time with this account name on my email account)

Now I am trying to resolve this issue with steam but I cant figure out where and how to let steam know that my account is inaccessible and does not exist according to the reset password steps, how do I recover an account does frankly does not exist from about 6 months ago..

Please advise.

Any chance your son changed the account details?
Here's a guide on account recovery. You need to be logged out in order to get the correct screens. You can skip step 1
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1126288560

If it fails, mention which step is failing and what you're seeing that is different than what is depicted.

No, I log the accounts in, he doesn't know how to read and write yet so I have to do the logins.
Have you tried looking it up using the username?

If you're 100% certain the username is correct, then the account simply doesn't exist.

I am currently following these steps, but step one, that is optional I skipped, because I did not receive an email regarding steam account hijack.
As soon as I start with step two, I am right back where I started as the account is not found for email nor the account name. So to no avail, I could not proceed any further.

triple checked every single minor detail, I even went to check on my friends list from main account, account is gone, nor can I find it when I search it. I have the emails of this account dating back to 2018. Double checked the name on the emails as well, all the exact same as how I saved it in my notepad, tried finding the account by name and by email. does not exist. cant change passwords because the email and account name does not exist. I have many games on there with thousands of hours, I used this account as recently as 6 months ago and even more recent as well after that login 6 months ago seen on my email account.
Running into a brick wall is not fun..
Remember to use the account name and not a profile name. Account names are unique and do not change.

Accounts cannot be 'gone'. To even try to begin removing an account permanently requires massive proof of purchase and ownership

You are simply not checking things correctly. Your account absolutely exists.

There is no way I am making a mistake. I have been using these notepads for about 10 years to login to my accounts and never had an issue with account details ever in my life, because I keep track and records so well. How can my account not be found on my email address neither?

I know how difficult it is to remove an account. I would like to report this issue to Steam, but there is no where or no way I can report this issue to get it resolved.
