Headphones Aren't An Output Option. HELP

I have my ps5 controller plugged into my pc and a headphones plugged into the jack of the ps5 controller. I can not hear any game audio and when I try to change my output device it doesn't even give me the option to use the headphones as the output. Not sure what to do

From what I recall that kind of support on the PC is sketchy. Does the PS5 controller show up as a possible audio device?

Can you select PS5 controller as an audio output via windows settings? If no then it not gonna work, if Yes ensure you have set it as default so windows uses that controller audio driver to passthrough to your headset. Otherwise plug headset to PC instead.

Yes I can select the ps5 speakers as an output device it just doesn't play game audio through them. I can watch like youtube and tv through my headphones while plugged into my controller but just cant hear the game audio

Yes, it does show up. The option is dualsense controller speakers
