Is this normal while downloading?
I have a 300MB Connection with Verizon Fios . This is what steam is showing which is very unlikely to download at those speeds with a 300mb connection. is this a bug?

Getting 5% over your purchased speed, sure. ISPs can do that.

300 Megabit = 300 Megabit.
I don't see the issue.

I sincerely doubt you have a 300 Megabyte connection as that would equal 2.4 Gigabit per second.

You get speeds what you paid for. Was there an issue?

ISPs use Mb/s and not MB/s.

Steam > Settings > Downloads >>> Display download rates in bits per second (toggle off)... and that will show you in MB.

Yeah, Mbps vs MBps, when it's not random users randomly capitalizing letters, the B/b has significance. You pay for a 300Mbps connection, and you're getting a smidge over that. I mean sure it would be typical to get a little less, but it's not that surprising or that shocking.

I think the bug is in some of your knowledge, unless you have more information to add.

I have a 100 Megabit connection but usually get about 110-112Megabit without overhead, so about 10% free on top. Can't complain.

Yeah... Verizon does that here too. Unless you are in the gigabit plan. Then, you are either at 1 gigabit or just shy.

You got MEGABITS not MEGABYTES!

How many Mb is 300 Mbps?
300 Mbps provides a download speed of 37.5 Mb per second.
