Hi

Wanted to know if Tax is the same in every state/city in US?! or some places don't have to pay Tax when buying games!
Does it depend on city address or its a full region thing!

Thanks!

You have to use your real address, so don't try to cheat on taxes by using a fake address.

Not the answer to my question!
Anyone else have useful info on the matter?
Thanks in advance

You live in the USA don’t you know how sales tax works……..

Well, Steam takes a 30% commission of all games sold. I think how you much money you invest in games on Steam, in light of this fact, is more of a pressing concern, than taxes. The VAT, as they call it in the UK, is only a small fraction of the overall cost. It may make the prices higher, but the base sum is really what makes products as pricey as they are.

This.

Some regions/countries add the sale tax to the price of the product some regions add them during the checkout. One way or another, all the states/regions/countries have taxes as it is mandatory

You could've just used a search engine and asked it, you'd get the answer of:

No, they are not all the same. Most tax, and the tax rate can be state and city dependent.

Not all States have sales tax. Just because someone lives somewhere does not mean they know every aspect of the country.

I think what you talking about is "Regional Pricing" and yes i am aware that some regions pay less for games and some more!
But what i'm curios to know is are there any difference in Price/Availability/Tax on games in different states in USA!
And what states do not pay tax on steam store games?

Try reading the responses or using a search engine;

Again, use a search engine, first result is literally 2022 and the steam community are not obligated to search things for you, that you can easily find yourself;

DuckDuckGo search for "us states sales tax rate":
Result:
https://www.tax-rates.org/taxtables/sales-tax-by-state

That's just regular sales tax and not the digital sales tax. They can differ.

You get the point that you can find out by a simple online search, hotsauce. If they want to know digital sales tax, they just add the word. If they want to know sales tax (what the thread is about), then they use applicable words. They can also determine when making a purchase.
