PC won't detect PS4 controller
for some reason my PC cant even detect that my controller is plugged in. I just get a yellow/orange colour that fades. there is no controller in my Devices and Printers. and no HID-compliant game controller in my device manager. I have data/sync cable and my controller is brand new.

Might have to download a driv r or separate program.

You could try this: https://ds4-windows.com/

It's a popular go-to solution.

If you have DualShock 4, it should be recognized and can work with SteamInput enabled.

Other 3rd party controller would work if game is natively support without SteamInput.

Not saying PS4 controllers aren't a good option [and ds4 is a good option like mentioned] but my corded Xbox style controller is so handy and reliable, plus cord game controls are cheap. I know people love wireless, but might consider a USB option, just saying.

May not even be your controller, have you tried Bluetooth from other devices to see how well it's working PC wide, or attempted it with other games. I know I remember some titles simply having poorly setup scripting in game coding initially so controllers sucking was on their end, la Noire is an example, it's been fixed since then but it had it's own issues when first released.

Light shows it's getting power. The fact it's not even getting detected leads me to think the cable you're using is a charge/power only cable. You need to use a Charge and sync/power and data cable.

As suggested in post #4 try a different cable.
