In case this happens to someone else:
My "Documents" folder resided on one of the drives I lost. When I created a new "Documents" folder on a new drive, the games all sync'd from the cloud and it also allowed me to save games again.
same as do it diffrently to avoid use default place. ( this will happend again with next install that use that place. or other things use it and dont have rights to do it. )
technical yes you solved it and yet you did not. ( dont get us wrong here as user you can do what you want, but that day someone help you and dont know what you did might forget new Document place because he still see old place if content is there. )
give apps rights to access its place is the more correct way to do it. ( and yes you can can do as you want. ) why bother with it, because that helper that might help you have huge chance to get it worng and not take backup of the right place.
and why most say are you sure or privat userdata is user own responsibility to have backup on.
same then my neighbour want me to help him with pictures, i tell him how will i know what is what, then i have to deal with hes issue with it its impossible for any helper to deal with such
but with hes yes im sure, then we do it.
