Fake Steam Wallet Codes?
Can someone get you banned by giving you fake Steam wallet codes?

I don't think you can be banned from the Steam service at all. The only bans I personally know of are in-game cheating, trading and community bans. You will never be restricted from buying and playing games on the steam store. However, if you do enter a "fake Steam wallet code" the worst I could see happening is Valve charges back the money. With that being said, don't try getting "free Steam Wallet codes" because there's no way someone is willing to chuck up that cash to some random person without something in return. Be careful out there, not everyone is nice.

Thank you for your response, but that isn't the case here. I am just selling some keys and the guy offered to pay with Steam wallet funds.

It's not possible to trade wallet funds. Remove that person from your friends list and block them.
YOU MIGHT BE GETTING SCAMMED. Please do not proceed with the trade if you are obtaining items outside of the trade window. Please check your guys reputation in the community on third party sites like Steam Rep. I'm sure there are other people who would be willing to sell to you with items inside the trade window if you wait for more offers. DO NOT RISK GETTING SCAMMED.

He bought the cards from 7-11, I am aware that you cannot trade codes. Thank you for looking out though. :)

Like I told the guy above you, he's buying the cards from a retailer that sells the cards. Thank you for look out though. :)
What they're saying is that it doesn't matter where he says he's getting them, he is likely to be lying to you and will just give you fake codes or no codes at all and scam you. You are VERY likely to be scammed because there is no way to trade items for Wallet funds or cash and it's against the SSA to boot. I highly recommend you do NOT do this.

I will take your advice then. Thank you.
