Steam Library missing lots of Banners
I use the steam library on gallery view, the one view that displays the banners. Recently ALOT of my games seem to have only a little square icon that had full banners before. Games such as Half Life, Fear 2, and GTA san andreas. Those are just a few but there are ALOT of them, where did the banners go or the big picture that used to be there?

Is this a steam bug? thanks for any help!

just adding, but is this like a virus? Because mine seems to be getting worse, even recent games like Assassins creed black flag are now reduced to an icon, I think more and more of the banners in my library are becoming just little icons. I hope its not like that virus that started unlocking peoples achievements I read about. I havent joined any multiplayer games and barely been able to play at all lately due to work so im sure I couldnt have gotten it from another game session?

I read to go to Steam ,settings,Account,Beta Participation,change it will update and wala there back I only discovered after a reinstall and then searching the Internet IT WORKS

If it were a virus I doubt going to the beta client would fix it. I could be wrong though.

Thats good news Im afraid to try the beta, Ive tried beta things before only to have it not end well. Anyone know how long it takes for steam to push fixes out of beta? Is there any "known" cycle, or is one of those things where: when their done, their done..... ?

You Know, I usally agree with the whole Beta Thing.But its is Valve and Steam I think I can trust them. But I do hear Ya

Beta fixed this Issue. Give it a go, Can always roll back.

I opted into the patch, but if I opt out of future betas, it removes my patch. How can I patch this bug in steam but not need to subscribe to the beta?

Bridget, wait for Valve to fix it (might be months...or days) or quit worrying about the beta. I'm not sure what your fear of betas stems from but it seems irrational to me. Has anything in the beta caused you problems? I haven't noticed any functionality problems so far. Beta != bad.

You can not patch the regular public client with bits and pieces of the beta. It's one or the other. Either use the regular client and deal with the small icons until Valve fixes it or run the beta and be happy if it doesn't cause you any problems. You can always check it monthly and when it's fixed just opt out. I just don't get the fear of "beta". There's plenty of examples of "official" releases being buggy and problematic so that shouldn't mean much to you. The problem you are dealing with is a perfect example. It's an official release but it's not working right and the beta is. What does it matter if it's final or not if it runs fine? It's like getting a treat before everyone else :)

(I'm scared of Beta's because I dont want there to be a glitch and I lose my games T_T )

Good news! The recent patch fixed our banner issue! I hope everyones problem is resolved at least. I wonder what caused the problem, I forgot to read the recent patch notes :P

Well.All I know is that my Steam has been Glitchy for some time, Slow loads and such it has not worked this well in awhile.The Beta is ding ne Fine.
