Downloading on Origin is faster?

I seriously hate Origin to pieces, but for whatever reason I get faster downloads through it. With Steam I get a max of 315 kb/s, and an average of 300 kb/s. With Origin, I peak about 900 kb/s and average around 600+ kb/s.

I think I looked through all of the Steam settings and there is no bandwidth limit.

Also don't make fun of my small down speeds, it's all I can manage lol.

I swear I'm not trying to justify Origin, I hate it, but I can't figure out why it downloads twice as fast.

Have you tried using a different server? On settings click on Downloads and select a different one under Download Region.

Except, I break the speeds the OP mentions every time I download a game, so it isn't that simple.

It doesn't matter if you break the speeds. You may have a better/faster connection. What matters is that on the same connection when he downloads from Steam it is at less than half the rate of when he downloads from Origin.

While for others its equal. So its not "steam" alone.

True. I was just saying that just because that one guy has faster speeds doesn't mean the OP doesn;t have a problem. The guy just stated he gets faster speeds on Steam than the OP which wasn't the OP's point, it was that on the OP's connection, he gets at least twice the speed on Origin compared to Steam.

I can get 20mbps on both Origin and Steam and UPlay and other services

Try changing your download region and seeing if thta helps. NOte that your download speed depends on a LOT of factors many of which are out of your control.
