Grid banner images disappear...

I've been searching for help on this but haven't found the right solution yet.

The problem is that some of the grid images for Steam games I own disappear. It just started happening in the last day or so. It's not because Steam no longer offers the game--in fact, a game that I bought today has the problem.

The problem appears to exist only in the windowed desktop; it doesn't seem to happen in Big Picture mode.

If I delete httpcache, the Steam application will re-acquire the images and everything will look fine for the moment, but as soon as I exit and restart Steam (or even change from displaying Installed Games to All Games, etc.) the same images disappear again.

I'd love to hear if anyone has struggled with and solved this particular problem.

Quick update--I just installed Steam on my laptop. I pulled it up and listed the games. Same deal...it pulled in all the grid images correctly and then after a few seconds a number of them disappeared. It looks like the same ones that disappear on my game computer. So weird.

It's not just you, Valve broke something today. Most of mine are missing as well.

Yep, same here. Not as many, but the number does appear to be growing over time. I tried to verify the games, and still they are showing like has been posted.

Well, that clears the mystery up at least. I wonder if they plan on fixing whatever they broke...

I'm also having this problem. At least it's reassuring to know I'm not alone and that it is to do with a recent Steam update.

I saw in another thread that the problem is corrected if you click participate in the beta program in the Steam client. The newer beta version apparently fixes the problem. I haven't checked it out because I don't download betas. I'll just wait...!

Can confirm that the beta built may 12 fixes it.

My grid view is still broke, even more banners started disappearing besides the ones that were already missing. No fix for the moment.. waiting

Yes,mine seems to be getting worse,too. So nice of Steam to not offer any explanation.
