Incorrect "Last Online" times
I've noticed something over the past week and I couldn't see any topics on it in the recent help and tips sections, so I thought I'd make my own.

What I've noticed is essentially large portions of my friends list will have the same "Last Online" times, when I know they weren't all online around the time it says. They all seem to stay consistent with each other, like some kind of glitch. However, it doesn't seem to affect everyone on the list, as some are longer or shorter than the time for the "Last Online" of the majority of people. Also, some people have a default ? avatar and no last online time, despite not having a private profile or something along those lines.

It might not make much sense, but I've put a link to a screenshot below to show what I mean:

Has anyone else had this problem recently?

I haven't had any problems like this at all. Sometimes the 'last online' time isn't correct but it doesn't show they were last online an hour ago. Hope you find a fix to this soon.

SAME problem here, however I've only noticed this recently, could perhaps be the steam summer sales, I hope the problem goes away after the sales, its quite annoying

Still ongoing.

Still happens, I thought I'm the only one. It happens when you got disconnected. To reproduce this, simply disconnect your internet connection with Steam running, and then reconnect to the internet. All of your friends' Last Online time will be incorrect until you restart Steam.

For me it sometimes shows wrong on the friends'box. But on their profile, the time is correct.

Yes, it's always correct on the profile page.

I get this all the time. Whenever Steam goes offline to connection issues or such.

Everyone on my friends list that are offline have went online 34 mins ago. What a coincidence... Nope.

It's not a coincidence. It's when you logged in. Mine has been doing it for 3-4 months now. Almost everyone on my friends list who is Offline when I wake my computer (from standby) has no "Last Online" time. After a minute, they all say "Last Online: 1 minute ago". It continues to increment the entire time I'm on. Very few now say real times that extend beyond the moment I last logged in. Just a moment ago, my connection had a hiccup and reconnected within seconds. Now everyone's "Last Online" time is reset...

I've had the exact problem for almost a year now, restarting is the only way to fix it... so stupid. With all the money steam makes you think they could fix little bugs like this or listen to feedback that their customers want

Indeed. I've heard about different small things like this which just seem to go away quietly after months, if not years of being there and reported.

Man, this is messed up. Partial fix for this is to never use „Show avatar” option and if it shows correct time, just disable this. Disabling it when it shows bad time doesn't do sh♥t.
