Family PIN
So I tried setting up a family view and I forgot my PIN.
I have contacted support 3 days ago still no response and I'm really tiered of trying to "hack" my own PIN.
any way i can reset it by myself or get valve support to actually help me faster?

I doubt you can "hack" the PIN and you have no choice but to wait for your turn with support.

You might try recording things like this n the future...

How should I phrase my support ticket for a family pin reset?

I would suggest you use something like Lastpass to manage passwords in the future , there are other services as well but thats the one I use ( no I don't plan on pasteing a referal link) . if you do not want to do that save the 'note' with the pin to evernote or google docs, it will save you a headache in the future.

I do use keepass but my pin hasn't been stored there. Some pins like for oninebanking i won't store anywhere

It must be easier for someone to recover the PIN i think, because you surely not the first or the last with this kind of problem

well I don't trust 3rd party online services to save my passwords

why not? with last pass they cant even decrypt them them selves, it's all done localy , I belive keepass is simalar. it's a lot better then some browsers that store them in plain text.

KeePass is one of the most secure Safes i know. Usable for Win/Android and more. The databank is secured by Master-password AND by Keyfile. you can choose if you use both or only one.

But as it was a PIN only i won't secure it in KeePass. It has to be in my head. I remember nearly 20 Passwords and Pins so it could be possible to loose a pin for a short time but with my methods i remember them after several days ;)
