Failed To start Game (unknown Error)

Whenever I try to launch a game, it tells me it failed to start. Any help?

Doin the same thing with me. I think it's Steam's problem. This is one of the few problems with digital downloads. You don't actually "own" the game. Just the intellectual property.

Okay... It tried starting Arma 3 and i am having the same problem... with all my games. So it is steams problem.

It may be an issue with Security software. I got an update to my AVG FREE this morning and can not play any of my Steam games.

I'm getting this issue with ARMA II, ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead and the DayZ mod. I just installed them for the first time last night. Any fixes?

Long shot but it worked for me. Sign out of Steam, close Steam out completely, refresh your desktop, then sign back in.

Thanks I found the problem it was not just a Steam related issue but it was due to corrupted or missing data on some files in my system and Steam folder. The fix was, run windows repair then reinstall steam.Fix unknown error ok
