You can use your Gamecube controller if you have a USB adapter for it.

But remember that PC games won't be designed with this button layout in mind, and not every game allows you to customise the buttons.
It is set up like a PlayStation controller and has a switch to change from xinput to direct input so it can be used with both old and new games.

Also take note that there are adapters for Gamecube controllers so you can use it on PC. I think they are around $15. I would not advise using it though because the button layout is made specifically for Nintendo games.
EDIT: Sniped by Canti... Great minds think alike
Now, to choose between Xbox 360 or the Logitech... Both seem to be €30, but searching for Microsoft Xbox 360 I end up €35.
Hmm... Gotta think about this. :p
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! ^^
EDIT: went with the logitech after all xD
For example, in "Dust: An Elysian Tail", you will notice that the minigame to open chests happens to have the buttons arranged, displayed and labelled like they are on the XBox-360 controller... but I'm sure that's just a random coincidence. Like on so many games with the same random coincidence.
(besides, I'm not very bright)
If you know any better options, just say it. :3
The logitech controller that I recomended is labled the same as a XBox controller but the layout is slightly different. 2 analog sticks on the bottom, dpad on the left as if it was a playstation controller instead of 2nd analog stick on the left and a Dpad and Analog Stick on the bottom like the 360 controller.
It all comes down to personal preferance. I have muscle memory from using playstation controllers as a kid and to play fighting games with my buddies so the layout of the xbox controller feels decidedly unnatural to me. and finding the Logitech controller was a huge boon for me and I am trying to provide the same boon to those who want it as well.
Of course you have those 10€ ones, but those are toys and not controllers. They break too easily, not speaking from constant compatibilty issues as long games will not recognize them.
My 360 tasted the carpet like 5-6 times and still goes like a workhorse.
1) If you get the console controller version the "plug and charge" cable DOES NOT CONNECT TO YOUR COMPUTER. There is no cable that you can do that with.
2) If you already have a xbox 360 console controller you only need a PC wireless receiver
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2
3) Otherwise purchase a wired/wireless PC VERSION of the xbox controller. The wireless version of the PC version comes with the receiver
4) Or you can purchase the Logitech F310/510/710 as noted above
