How to spot phishing attempts, various mistakes made, etc.

Hello everyone, I am going to talk about Phishing, how it's done, what to do if you fall victim, and an example of one. Some of you may be aware of this, but some people aren't, which is why I made this thread.
Summary:
1):Discussing Phishing and what to do if you are sent any attempts.
2)What to do if your Hijacked.
3)example of a phishing message.
4)Common mistakes found in the messages, and what traits to spot.

1)
As you already know most hijacked accounts on steam were hijacked by phishers. If you get a message from anyone on your friends list asking you to add someone to your friends list, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT CLICK THE LINK AND SIGN IN. If you do, your account will be hijacked.

2)
Now lets say your account was hijacked, you should contact steam support, and they will inform you of what evidence you need to supply. For example, a CD key with the support ticket number written on it, your purchases, etc.

3)
Here's an example of a phishing message:
"*****: Hello, please add my friend, he needs to trade with you,
but it steam error while adding you http://steame***********.com/**/***********
Marvin The Mountie: ********
Marvin The Mountie: your gay"

4)
1: The grammar and spelling of the messages sent by the Hijackers is atrocious,
Example:" but it steam error while adding you"
2: the link has a spelling mistake in it, and will open in your browser. All official steam links open within steam itself, not inside a browser.
Example:"http://steame************.com/**/*************" (Notice how there's an e instead of a C)
3:Most of the time, they won't respond to you.
Example:"*****: Hello, please add my friend, he needs to trade with you,
but it steam error while adding you http://steame***********.com/**/***********

Marvin The Mountie: your gay" ( this was my friend who was unfortuneatly hijacked)

Any logical person is going to respond when you call them gay.

People have made actual guides on how to avoid this kind of stuff. Case in point, http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=177244559

It doesn't matter in the end because the vast majority of the people who fall for things this blatantly obvious are the ones who wouldn't sit down and read a topic about how to avoid it in the first place.

Don't need to. Some people will read others will not, just let it stay and don't bump it. People may even comment on it and it can stay on the first page for a while

No no! don't delete it, this thread is actualy a very informative thread, it may help many people who subscribe to the forums. Phishing as we know it, is a plague among steam, people need to know how to take evasive actions against it, and know how to easily and swiftly report it.
