Starting yesterday I had these 2 ads appearing on all steam websites - in browser and in the steam application. Here is the photo [docs.google.com]

I downloaded Malwarebytes. Alot of junk was detected and I got rid of it but the ads are still here. Here is the quarantine text file [docs.google.com]

Did you run Malwarebytes in Safe Mode? If not, do that.

I also see a trojan in the Malware bytes scan. That's very concerning.

Definitley do what muckymucks says. Boot windows into Safe Mode and re-reun both the MalwareBytes and anti-virus scan

Also I would go into Malwarebytes > Settings > Detection and Protection and tick the "Scan for RootKits" option; then re-run a full scan.

Best bet is to reboot into Safe Mode; then run a full scan with Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D.

I scanned with Malwarebytes and Avast! in safe mode. This is the Malwarebytes scan in safemode [docs.google.com] and here is Avast! in safemode. [docs.google.com] I quarantined the files they detected but the ad is still in steam.

Everything I can think of has already been said.
Your best bet is to do a Clean install of your OS.
Why would you even have a trojan on your PC?

this old (2012) adware can be cleaned with http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

I would not trust the computer anymore.
I know, you would be happy if the ads are just away, and you would think all is fine.
But no one can say that.
And by trying and looking you waste time, and keep worries.
Especially as you have a trojan on your computer.
if you not advanced user - it simplest way

Some people advanced to a point where they dont allow malware to happen, because they would make a clean install otherwise.
You cant call that "not advanced".

And the topic opener has a trojan on his computer. Not just "an old adware".
So for safety reasons, he got my suggestion.

I'm pretty sure that Malwarebytes got rid of the trojans and the adware is what is left.

I used adwcleaner but as you can see here [docs.google.com] avast says it is a virus.

Ups, Lost in translation... I wanted to say that he can try to cure, but easier and faster to do a "clean" installation, especially if there is no experience in the removing of infections
egoldman15 24/abr./2014 às 11:59
I am using a laptop so I know a clean install isn't that difficult, it might not be the easiest way.
Seven7 24/abr./2014 às 12:02
I recommend use LiveCD (Linux, or RescueCD) for removing viruses from partition with data(or copy important files), and copying saves from system partition, than format and reinstall OS
Avast free is most popular AV, what i seen on infected PCs... ;)
yellow icon B - it bitcoin miner? ;) now understand, why you infected...
