Buying NA games (Darksouls II) in Japan

Hi!
Darksouls II is coming up in few days and I would like to pre-order it soon.
The problem is, I am currently living in Japan but would like to purchase NA version of it instead of the Japanese version for two reasons.
First of all, Japanese version is almost twice the price of the NA version.
Secondly, I heard that the Japanse version of Playstation Darksouls II did not include English, which is a problem because I can't read Japanese.
With that said, I'd love to know if I can purchase NA Darksouls II in Japan, and if I can, how can I do it.

Steam's versions may be region locked though I don't know anything about Dark Souls 2. I can't bekieve it's almost $100 there thats really odd. If it is region locked there's no real way of getting around it in Steam besides using methods like a vpn that would risk the banning of your entire account. Your best bet is to look for it somewhere other than Steam. I would also e-mail the developer/publisher as they may be able to direct to somewhere faster.

After looking into it I see how crazy this is DS2 prices by region can range from $20 something to $80 something USD.

These people talk about certain workarounds or places to purchase in the comments but I would research it heavily before going through with it.
This is pretty ludicrous and I definitely think your should contact the publisher.

Oh wow, thanks so much for the research!
After reading those websites you found, I really have to buy the NA version, since I'm moving to Canada in few months.
Looking at these websites, it seems like I can't play the JP version in there. =/
I'm going to spend tonight researching about this and hope that I can find a safe way to get NA versions in here.

If I remember correctly one guy in the comments section had an issue very similar to you he posted an email exchange with a place that sells steam keys and he somehow garuntted that the Brazillian key the customer was buying would work when he moved back to Canada. If you use one of these sites even if they aren the big names like amazon gamefly, gog, or g2a I would definitely get a detailed email exchange garunteeing you the same just to be on the safe side
