[Solved]-my fallout new vegas crashes every time that i finish the new game opening cinematic (whether i skip it or not)

so, i just spent $20 on fallout: new vegas ultimate edition and i absolutely loved playing it on my consoles just without a console anymore i wanted to play it on my pc, now, i downloaded and installed fallout through steam after i bought it and now whenever i try to start the game (always have to click on new) my game crashes after the cinematic finishes, just before benny shoots me, the message i get from windows is "fallot:NV has stopped working" or whatever that message would be if im wrong on the exact words, anyways, i have read and been told that it is very glitchy and crashes a lot BUT I CANT EVEN START TO PLAY it just will not let me even click one button in actual gameplay before it crashes and wont let me play so please, please, someone, please, tell me how to fix this, i have tried the validation but i dont think it works because each and every time it tells me that 1 file was muffed up and needs to be redownloaded or whatever and it does that and says its been fixed but i guess it hasnt so please can someone help me as it crashes right now as im typing for the 15th time at least... i know its not my computer i just want to know how to be able to play my favourite game :(

@ yellow blanka, i tried doing the cores coding switches earlier and that didnt seem to do the trick, as for my drivers and such i believe theyre all up to date, i know my "GeForce Experience" says everything is up to date so that should be good for my GPU correct? and as for the windows updates im pretty sure that with the over 100 ive completed in the past week after the computer was out of use for 6 or so months im pretty sure i got them all :p im using windows 7, like i said pretty sure ive got all the updates other than potentially useless ones such as language packs (i dont really need to do i? O.o) and back to Mr. Muppet, really? it could be that silly of a thing that enables it to work? lol ♥♥♥♥ eh alright and yeah im kinda tired so to me that meant it will basically delete all the installed stuff for the game to actually run but keep the actual install folders or something i dont know now thinking about it it makes 0 sense but at the time i thought maybe it could keep the files on my PC but still do the same effect :p and as for the internet im trying to get at least a higher cap, 80 gigs is pathetic, i was living in a city where unlimited is basically all you can get but here in Canadian small towns, unlimited is ridiculously overpriced and almost completely unheard of :/ need to get back to college lol

anyone have any other ideas? the download is almost done and im updating any drivers that ASUS says have ever been available for my motherboard (obviously only getting most recent ones)

so ive installed literally all and any updates that apply directly to english version of windows 7 and my hardware...... ive done these "tweaks" for how many cores it runs off of......... ive done everything ive found in any thread and that you guys have told me within what im comfortable with doing myself (as for what ive seen on other pages) and still its giving me the same bs... i thank you both for your time and help but i think this is something bathesda or steam will have to deal with in the form of reimbursement or fixing this problem with me, i spent my money to download and play this game and so far all its done is download so before i get angry im saying ♥♥♥♥ this and just gunna deal with the corps. again, thanks for your time guys i appreciate it and your help!

youre suggesting this as a means of....? getting the game to work...? not having to download 10 more times until it does....? its still not working and i have exhausted every option i possibly can.... it always gets to the end of the cinematic, starts the loading screen, and just when it finishes loading and goes to start the actual game, initially create the autosave file have me set up my character and everything etc etc etfc thats when it crashes.... is there something i can do about this? like about that specific time it is crashing.... could there be an error in the files for the actual game that i can access these files and change the one line of coding that is not correct because (i have very basic programming knowledge) but based on my experience over the past 6 and a bit hours, i would say this is most likely a program error (should i expect an update? how long does it normally take steam to reply to support tickets? how bout bathesda? do any of them even care or give a flying **** about customers? do i have any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hope or did i just get scammed by steam pretty well?

alright, thanks much!!! ive tried to do all the coding changes for a total of 8 times now and it still crashes as soon as its done loading after benny kills me and the game starts like clockwork

even tried to change it for 4 cores instead of 1/2... still nothing... 10 tries in im giving up for the night thanks for all your help guys i think im just gunna go ahead and get my refund or something i dunno this is just such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and not in any way acceptable from any sort of a corporation, like i said, ive never had a problem with origin, just install and play but not steam... first game ive spent money on in this client and 100% the last...

I'm perfectly willing to admit I may have missed it but I have to ask what drivers you are using for that video card. I remember having an awful time with that series of card with anything above 314.22... that may have changed with the much later drivers.

yeah, maybe, probably, its just annoying that i spend money on something that refuses to work... and well that could quite potentially be it, my driver is at the newest version: 335.something so do i need to put it to a later update? before 314.22?
