PST displaying at Steam
Do you guys think the current PST time should be displaying at Steam? It would be really useful for gamers that don't use this time (actually many of us).

Why would all of steam need to know 1 areas time zone? If you need extra clocks windows can show 3 time zones at the same time.

Because it's the time Valve uses for its releases and stuff, maybe you don't need it because you use that exact time -I don't know- but there is a large number of Steam users who don't live in North America (like me) and therefore would be glad to know without having an extra clock on the desktop (I don't have enough space in it, but that's a different matter... :P)

All release times for games on steam are in local time. Check the sale page for the release date in your local time.

Example

The hours left are in your time, not pst.

Well yes, but that is for releases only (am I mistaken?). An example: The end of a "X" deal is said to end at "Y" hour PST. The problem with this is that I don't know what that "Y" hour equals to in my time, so if I have the current hour in PST I would know and I wouldn't have to do any conversions.

All times in your steam client will show you your local time not pst. the only things that still show pst are the adverts for the end of a free weekend. "Play until monday 10am pst" those are the only things left, and steam does not need to add a pst clock to every user on steam just for this.

Just learn how many hours you are from PST and add/remove. For example you maybe -8gmt, so you know what the time is and you just count back 8 hours.

Really? Do I have to configurate something? The end of the deal for example is shown on PST time on my account...
eram Apr 14, 2014 @ 2:53pm
The end of the deal is in your own time. The hours remaining are your hours left.

I know. What I am saying is that these hours are displaying in my account in PST time but I am in Europe, using a GTM +1 time. So the time displaying is not valid to me.

Those are your times. If it says you have 8 hours left you have 8 hours left. It's not showing you PST.

Ok, here's where I think the confusion is.

The time in the sale description is "Ends at X time PST". This time is PST, for what time it is in your time zone, you will need to take the offset for your time zone from PST, and add or subtract it from that time.

Alternently, the time on the game description pages is based on your time. So when it says "WEEKEND DEAL! Offer ends in XX:XX:XX", that's acutally how much time you have left. So if you don't know your offset, you can just visit the game page to see how much time you have left.

Yes, that's what I was saying, thank you :) So one time is PST but the other is my local time, isn't it? Thanks :)

You cant forget about the pst ending time and just check the actual time you have left. Ignore the ends at 10am pst and just look at how much time you have left. The time you have left is in local time.
