How to turn off the linkfilter?
All the thing seems to do is make it so there is a 60 second pause between when I click a link and when it actually opens. It doesn't even open up the "Are you sure this site is safe?" page, all it does is add a delay, which does nothing for security; it's only there to annoy me. :cgpout:

To bypass it, copy it, paste it into a browser, and delete the Steamcomunnity linkfilter portion of the URL before the actual URL.

That's obvious, but is just as annoying as waiting, and is not a proper solution.

The filter is there for a reason

To be an annoying waste of time? I don't exactly enjoy my experience being downgraded because some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lost his steam account.

It's not even doing the job of being a warning: it doesn't even popup with the HEY THIS ISN'T A STEAM SITE page, it goes straight to the link, just takes an extra 60 seconds for it to realize what is happening for some dumb reason.

Security is in place for all users for a reason

Option security measures do not help anyone that need them as they will just bypass those measures.

And they should be allowed to.

Steam Guard is optional, is it not?

Do it in a browser, not the client. It is the client that is slow overall, not the link filter.

That's still dumb though, why is it your responsibility to put a linkfilter wall between them? Why does clicking an a box at the bottom of the page, which everyone will subconsciously do automatically after a few times stop people typing their passwords into websites that they shouldn't? If people are dumb enough to do it they'll be dumb enough to do it with this link filter in the way and now I have to pay someone money to code me a userscript to bypass this dumb as hell 'feature' so I don't have to waste 10 seconds of my life every time I click a link

this is not about us this is about support needing to fix the flooding.

they should take away all steam browser logins and have the client sent a token to log in on sites with a steam log in.
you only have to set it one time and steam checks the link and log in until you remove the link from your settings.
just allow a steam client log in that fixes most problems.

everybody not on a public computer secure and we can open links as we please.

It's right in your steam account settings.
