Uninstall DLC [URGENT]
So I decided to get the free DLCs for the HD packs for the games: Skyrim and Sleeping Dogs.

Now I have a problem, I can't uninstall them and everytime I play those games I will have those DLCs enabled and taking more GB of space on my PC.

What can I do now?

Once DLC is bound to the game, it won't be removed and you can't individually uninstall a DLC.

You can try contacting Steam Support and politely asking them to remove the DLCs if you do not wish to have them, I'm sure they'll help you out.

Thank you for the quick reply, but that will take literally days or even weeks.

Why can't they just allow us to select what DLCs we want?

True, but you will then be able to play the games without the DLC.

And I don't know, sounds like a good idea to me.

Mostly because it would lead to the inevitable 'why isn't my dlc downloading' thread

I think that if we can play the games with certain DLC and without others I think we can also disable them to prevent more issues. I would rather have fixes on the current system rather than more things added, those categories in the Library need more options.

I really hope I don't have to download things again.

You can disable your Skyrim stuff via the Steam Workshop. But I find it easier to do with Nexus Mod Manager.

Hmmm, won't that kill my saves?

Only if you have a save that uses the DLC in question. But it would screw it up even if you just uninstalled it.

Removing things like Dragonborn, Hearthfire, or Dawnguard would be bad for your Saves, possibly. Removing the High Resolution Texture Pack won't.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will however wait for Steam Support to fix the issues.

Fix what issues?

Nexus Mod Manager is a better system for handling the DLC and Mods for Skyrim.
Even the Steam Workshop comes with it's own Manager where you can disable the DLC I believe. I think you just have to launch it. I've never actually used it though, because NMM is the first and only one I go to.
