If you want to share YouTube videos u have from your profile/channel, u can do this in your Steam video section.
To get this linkage to even work, u must fist go into your Google account and there is a section in the settings to allow access via 3rd party, u need to enable/allow Steam in there. After this then u can link your YouTube in Steam.
If u want to share your YouTube channel, you can add that link in your Profile settings, in the Summary box.

Everything so changed around now I don't know where to look.
Used to be so easy before.
I have YouTube videos on my Steam account and my YouTube linked to my Steam (did this years ago) and yet in Google > Security, there is nothing listed for 3rd party app access. Same when I look within my YouTube settings.
So now I'm all confused...
Crap is worse than Facebook the way they keep changing stuff around.
Right, so first of all you go to your main youtube account, the main email. Base account.
Not channel.
Go to youtube settings.
Then go to advanced.
Click dropdown menu and select channel wanted.
save settings
link with steam normally.
voila!
Thank god I figured it out!
You no longer need too. Just follow the instructions I have just stated in my previous comment and it should be fine, after thsi it appears inside the place where you can revoke access.
