Windows System 32 XAudio2_7.dll Help. Illogical Problem
This is a weird one. I'v searched all over the net and I'v exhausted my computer knowledge. So the problem is when I attempt to start a game on steam I get an error right as its almost done setting up. C:\Windows\System32\XAudio2_7.dll. After launching the game is entirely silent regardless of what i attempt.

What I gather from this is that it is a DirectX system32 issue with the filed 2_7.dll. I have tried replacing that file to no avail. I have attempted to re-install and update both my visual and audio drivers. I have re-installed the games and verified files. I tried changing, updating and repairing countless files and have read all of the trouble shoots I can find. None of them have worked for this problem.

I'v tried a couple of tech supports and the first one made everything worse. I allowed remote control for them to try to fix it and they ended up breaking steam and losing half a Terabyte of games off my computer without fixing anything. So I'm out of options. I turn to you my fellow steam Users and guardian computer angels to help me. Im at a loss.

Edit: Forgot to mention it trys to tell me that the Directx XAudio2_7.dll file either dosn't belong on windows (nonsense) Or has an error in it (Logical) But I have found no way to replace it.

usually indicates two things:
1 damage the disk and / or file system
scan for damage

2 virus infection

etc.

another option - launch on x32 (x86) system files intended for x64 systems
Could just be that where ever u were installing DirectX from, could contain corrupted files.
Thus the end result is the same with regards to errors and alike.

Download the full "redist" download of DirectX from Microsoft here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Run it and then choose a temp folder to extract the files to; for example C:\DX

After it completes, go to this folder and right click DXSETUP.EXE and click Run As Admin.

After it completes, restart Windows and try a game u had trouble with previously.

If the game appears to have issues and it is from Steam, verify game cache for the game and see if that helps.

Well I can't exactly pinpoint a time it happened because it's not for all games. Though my best guess would be when I updated windows to 8.1 a few weeks ago. Not sure though. I tried downloading that full Redist and running it but right at the end of install it gave me the same error as the games had.

Word for word

c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\XAudio2_7.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administator the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000020.

I'v tried reinstalling from orginal aswell as new sources and contacted the vendors but they only made things worse xD
