How do I open/view ACF files?

Recently I got a mod for hl2 and there are a few soundtracks I wish to extract from the mod, however, it'll require me to open the once so called GCF files, but now they've all been re-named to ACF.

I don't know how to view/read the files, there's no software out there that recognizes ACF, well, there's the "fileviewpro" but it costs like 40 dollars.

It'd be much appreciated if someone could help me out on this, GCFScape doesnt support it. What should I do?

To answer your question literally, the ACF files are just text, Notepad will work.

But what you actually want to do is go into Steam/Steamapps/common/Half-Life 2 and look at the .vpk files in there. GCFScape will be able to open those.
