Can you download DayZ (standalone) without Windows 7 Service Pack 1?
I'm about to buy it for 30$. I want to make sure if it can work on my computer with at least 30 fps.

Well, does your computer meet the minimum specs of DayZ? Check the store page.

My computer has 4 GB RAM,520 GB availible space, and has ATI Radeon HD 3000 intergrated graphics.

Compare that to the Minimum specs listed on the store page.

:steamfacepalm:

Maybe you should take your own advice. This thread is 4 years old and Tirith answer is from 2014 when it was 100% correct.

.63 come out this year. In 2014 it worked fine without. Store always said you need servise pack1 but it ran fine until they changed the engine.

At which point I begin to wonder why the "Learn to read" when you then proceed to spell their name wrong, and this serves no practicality anyway because OP has likely already played the game.

No post is ever futureproof.

I meant "learn to read and understand the question", 2nd coment was just reply. Sick of people filling up forms with crap because they dont know the answer, dodge the question and still try to sound smart. like the rest of you.

Honestly the most flat answer would be "Yes, you can download DayZ, it's a whole different story whether or not you can play it."

That being said, I dislike 4 year old thread necroposters more. If people want answers to something that requires further knowledge on the game, they should post on the game's own forums and not on the general forums.

For example, I couldn't care less about DayZ and my answer would be more or less the same: do a comparison on your rig and the minimum requirements mentioned on the Steam Storefront. I'd never keep my OS with an obsolete version though.

Sure I get what you're after, but I'm saying that's what the gamehubs are for. You're not going to get super precise answers to game specific things here. Done bumping this myself, this didn't need a necro to begin with, and the whole "learn to read" just comes off both rude and ironic.

You need to learn to read too. Store page always called for SP1, as I mentioned in the coment that yall keep reposting. "futureproof" -c'mon, that's just dumb.

And I said this is why we post on game hubs.

My point is: TirithRR tells OP to do his own research by comparing. There's no point in spoonfeeding everyone the answer every single time or they'll ask the same question regarding every game. If OP wants to argue the system requirements mentioned, he'd go and ask on the gamehubs for the more precise answers.

Now stop necroposting, nobody cares at this point. I'm out.

And I never directly debated that. The whole "posts aren't futureproof" was based on a quick glance and was moreso a general statement, as even I get told I'm wrong about something years after something has already been changed.

Also, that's false. A ton of benchmark builds don't do any activations whatsoever and can update to the latest version fine nonetheless.

Don't speak crap you know nothing about. My previous Windows 7 was one of those disgenuine copies and ran Service Pack 1 just fine. Nowadays I have both my desktop and laptop use a legitimate copy of Windows 10.

Good. I'm putting ton of effort to keep "smart mouths" out. Pirated windows does not give one opion to update to SP1. And if yall werent so busy riding the pride train and even bareley attempted to answer the damn question there would never be a problem or argument. Very simple question too. "can I play it" all that crap is just cover up. "I don't know" is the right answer but pride gets in a way.
