How to sort friends list by who is online

I have a lot of friends, it is nearly impossible to find the ones who are online at the night hours. Is there some way to sort friends by who is online. The standard way of sorting by levels is just idiotic.

open the browser where you see all your friends and top left you'll see 'friends' with an arrow pointing down. Click that and select 'show online friends only'

Theres also the option in there for the sort order so that by default it shows green at the top (in game), blue next (online, not in game) and grey (offline users).

By browser, they mean the friends window. Not the page. At the very top left corner of the 'taskbar' there is a dropdown for sorting by name, showing avatar, online only, etc.

So. . . . . I have had steam for a LONG time. Im trying to clean out my list (can't add anyone else) and really am noticing there isn't a SORT option. . . . by that I mean I see the menu (avatars, show online only. . . . etc) but it would be nice to SORT by DAYS ONLINE, or LAST PLAYED WITH, or LAST CHATTED WITH.

I know its a shot in the dark, but this would be amazing for someone like me (who has had the same steam account since DAY 1 of launch. . . .)

solution: don't add people you don't know... i've been around years longer than you (your account is only 11 years old... day 1? Lol.)

I never get anywhere near my cap, and I am very active in discussions and steamworks games.

Yeah or just un-tick "sort by name" so offline friends will still be there but online friends will be on top.

i may be a bit late, but where do i find the my friendslist in browser? if i log into steam and click on my friends, only the steam client layout pops up. please help!
