how about if you have so many items you bet on d2l ? you're going to add many bots just to get your items . How are you going to get it all if you can't add friends
This should not effect traders, what I think would cause less chaos is removing the ability to send links via steam chat. That would solve the problem. Besides, if you are good friends with the person that you want to send the link to, you can always try to use a social site.
try to restar t you router IP and computer or try to open your account on other computer it works from me =3

Nothing prevents you from buying more items, it prevents you from adding more people. If people put their trading link on their profile, you don't need to add them.

Still hoping they'll allow us to simply open it up to anyone, not just friends, that way even the link won't be needed.
well the problem almost 2/3 of people in trading sites dont know how to use steam offer

Exactly this, this GREATLY affects trading
It does for now no doubt, till people learn to use the trade offers. Which they will, if this limit stays.
A better solution would be the users stop being stupid enough to fall for phishing scams. All the examples I've seen of people trying to phish have been obvious scams.
COME ON VALVE. This is ridiculous. I'm working on a collection of craft numbers for TF2, adding people - then all of a sudden, an error? Now I can't add anyone for a day. Really Valve? This is your solution for phishing? You may as well say "Well, if there's no trading, there are no items to be phished". I hate Valve :/
I like this change,it will destroy phisers, legit traders do not need more invites in few hours anyway, only scammers, spammers will have problem :)

Also there is steam offers feature that people should start using,it will no bite you.

if you get affect by this, you should ask yourself why you added so much people in few hours,it must be something wrong with you.

Also once again use frking steam offer button for trading.

Anyway no more spam from phisers and some stupid spamers that adding people without agreeing with their price

Thanks Valve

THIS WILL NOT EVEN STOP PHISHERS. THEY WILL JUST MAKE MORE ACCOUNTS. And it will destroy legit traders.... because you have to be on people's friends list or know their trade offer link if you want to use the steam offers. It will destroy me, a legit trader.

No you don't need to be on firend list to use steam offer, just post your link from steam offers in your trade and people can send you trade requests without being on your friend list,or like in dota2lounge set steam offer button and people can send you trade without be on your firend list.

You can find more info about this by going into inventory and then trade offers and then who can send me trade offers.

"Third-Party Sites
You can share this unique URL with other Steam users to allow them to send you a trade offer even if they aren't on your friends list. You can share this URL anywhere, including on third-party trading sites and Steam Community groups."

And yes this will slow down fking lowballers and phising bots, whoever gets affect by this problem should ask yourself why adding so much people in few hours, are you some spammer or scammer or some lowballer that adding people to lowball every few minutes?

Use your steam offer link in trade post and trade without being on friend list, set steam offer button in dota 2 lounge by adding unique trade offer link.

And calm down this is amazing change unless your IQ is lower then 50

The problem is that nearly all trades don't have a link to the seller's trade offer window. Even on TF2Outpost, where a notice was put up about the friend limit, nearly every trade still doesn't have a trade offer link.

There's a lot of people on Outpost who have it though and it seems to be increasing. You just don't see it till you go into their trade.

Well that should change soon if they want people to trade with them.
Anyone here an unusuals trader? If you were, you would know none ever accepts the first offer. How do people barter down overpriced buyouts through trade offers... You need people on your friends list to discuss offers.
ok.. good ?!
