What's happening to Steam? Technical Nightmare.
I don't think anyone can complain about Steam's temperament when trying to use the overlay in a non-Steam game because Steam doesn't have a responsibility to provide that support.

However:

Using Steam voice while in any game, Steam or Non-Steam, can cause the entire Steam client to freeze, rendering you still being able to hear them but them being unable to hear you. Only fix for this is to shut down the game you're playing and then use task manager to shut down Steam and then restart it all.

Page Errors: Pretty frustrating to have to go round in circles on your Steam navigation because Steam can't seem to recognise the existence of one of it's own pages. Also, included in this is the frustration of modifying the text boxes of your profile, getting it just the way you want it and then Steam throws it all out the window because of one error or another.

Can't edit Showcase: Apparently Steam has decided that my current Screenshot Showcase should stay the way it is. There's no ability to edit it at all. Although you can still go through the motions of selecting the picture you want in a showcase slot, Steam won't actually agree with you.

Second account for tech support: Two accounts? Really? Why do we need one account for Steam and another for Steam technical support? Surely if a hacker has access to one, he/she will have access to them all. I can't remember for the life of me whether I created a second account or not but I'm not going to waste my time on creating a third/fourth/fifth/sixth/etc/etc/etc account every time I need to contact tech support.

Uninstaller: Sometimes, the way to fix a problem is to remove it and start again, providing you remember to move all the games first. However, trying to uninstall Steam causes the uninstaller to stop at a certain point and there's nothing you can do but cancel the uninstallation with task manager. The best way to remove Steam is manually, although certain aspects require you to know how to edit the registry. And somehow, even if you get it right, something must still be left behind somewhere we can't find it because you then can't reinstall Steam without first restoring your computer to when you first bought it.

I still think Steam is a lot, lot better than Origin but please do something about all this.

Oh and I forgot the fact you can only view pictures by clicking on their blank thumbnails but that's already mentioned elsewhere.

Unless you're talking about the issues surrounding the DDOS attacks, any page issues is generally due to DNS problems locally. You should try using GoogleDNS or OPenDNS.

If your Steam account is hijacked, you can't use that account to contact Support. Ergo they are separate. Unless you want your hijacker to tell Support everything is ok?

But if they've hijacked one account, they've likely hijacked others too.

Which is why you have to create separate Support accounts....

You know... Think it like this "A backup account" to get your Main account back. Understand?

Yeah I get that but what's the point when the hijacker has likely hijacked your support account as well?

Well... Then is you own fault. Seriously, you get hijacked because you somehow gave your account information away.
Thats why you make a support account= New email, new password, the hijacker shouldn't know about those info, unless you used the same email to create that support account...

The only things that binds your account to you is the information you can provide as proof of account ownership such as receipts and cd keys. The accounts you use to contact support does not matter.

Well as far as I'm concerned, if someone's stupid enough to give one lot of details away then they're stupid enough to give them all.

And linking them to your steam account is better ... how exactly?

Again make a NEW support account and submit a ticket.

Then do as Τhe Rolling Ham Cheese said above and Satoru
You make a new one

Yeah that I can understand. There must be a better way though.

Either you link them, which is worthless because in a hijack scenario your steam account is lost, or they're separate. There's not much else in terms of 'choices'

There is no better way, they either spend 5 minutes to make a new account, or give up the account to the hijacker. Easy.
