how do I manually add games to my Steam library?
I have plenty of games that I have gotten on various bundles such as Humble Bundle, or Groupees Bundle(starting to get bundles from Bundle Stars as well), some of them are just straight download and play and aren't on any platform. While that is nice for when my internet is down, it would also be nice to have all my games in one place. How can I put DRM-free games on my Steam library, and also how can I put Desura games on my Steam library? I'm guessing if I can put games manually on Steam that are DRM-free, that I can put games on GoG on Steam manually as well.

Click "Games" at the top, then "Add non-Steam game to library".

Bottom left corner of the client

"Add a game > add a non-steam game"

You can't put non-Steam games on Steam, but you can add them as "non-Steam game" to your library. This only serves as a way to start them from your Steam client, and have your Steam status show that you're playing this game -- it's doesn't make it a Steam game.

It's the same "+ ADD GAME" button on your library window that you use to register Steam keys, just a different option in the menu that pops up.

U can add pretty much anything into your Steam Library, which will then just be a shortcut to the programs .exe

But some folks do like having them listed within their library for convenience. But again unless allowed by Steam, it won't actually become part of your Steam account, just a shortcut is all.

It is a nice way to allow others to see what you are running.

When a non-Steam app is added to the listing, it will have the .exe name. For example I added Need For Speed Rivals to my listing, but the root file is NFS14.exe, so it shows as "NFS14". Simply right click that and go to properties and from there u can change the display name, which is what will show on your friends list for others to see, when that app is launched from Steam.

I'm aware of that Bad-Motha. Some of the games aren't popping up on the list, such as Telepath RPG: Servants of Gods, and Ultinus: A Tale of Petty Revenge. While I can understand why Ultinus wouldn't allow it because it technically is a steam game, Telepath is not a Steam game, any ideas why?

If it doesn't show on the list, click the Browse button and point it to the game EXE.

As CANTI describes, simple click browse and go through to the folder where the root application .EXE file is at.

Tip #2: Don't necro threads, especially if they have nothing to do with your topic/issue.
