Screenshots not showing

For numerous games I have had my steam screenshots not showing under the screenshots page (neither for last session or that specific game). I have tried checking C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[userid]\760\remote\[appid] and still nothing shows. Then I changed the default screenshot folder to a custom one, took a screenshot, uploaded while still in session and that file is not found anywhere in any of the screenshot folders. I have checked all the post recently updated folder for jpg files as well and no screenshots even exist. Though I was able to upload a test screenshot while in game.

Since the filename is autochanged for upload I can't search for that specific filename, though I was able to search for date it was created and had no returns. Can anyone help?

On another note, my userdata file and steam browser seems to be cluttered with all sorts of extraneous folders, is there a way to clean up my steam install?

When you take a screenshot and open up the screenshots uploader, you can click "Show on disk" and it will open the folder where the screenshot is saved. This button might not appear if you're using the overlay.

You can delete everything in the Steam installation folder except Steam.exe and the steamapps folder (where your games are kept). When you run Steam again, it will recreate everything it needs, but there is no reason to do this unless it is causing a specific problem.

The show on disk isn't shown during gameplay with the overlay. When I closed the game, the screenshots window shows nothing of previous session or the game I just played.

when I click on show on disk it does not show it when I do screenshots in games it doesn't even show and I don't know how to fix this I have no sense of knowledge! can anyone help me!
