Not really. I think you can get that speed for free using those net zero crappy services.

Where I live, Charter Communications offers 40Mbps service for 49.99 (standard fee, not counting any contract discounts or first year agreements).

Of course, it all depends on where you live.

It depends on the game, if the game lets you set how good your bandwidth is, and the latency of your connection (mine has a nasty habit of becoming abhorrantly laggy even with a decent download rate).

However, I'll have to agree with TirithRR that 50 KB/s is neither worth playing on nor paying for. Seriously, who's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ extortionist providing your internet?!

I never played a game that needed more than 10kb/s up and down myself.
it is more about the quality of the line.

I don't think it is worth it but I am from a country were we are spoiled a bit.

Eh, I pay 100 a month just for 1.5 mb, but I live in montana... so I don't have much of a choice. And no, it's not worth paying if you can find some other isp.
