Steam Error Code 130
For 2 days now I've been getting steam error code 130 appearing whenever I try to connect to the store, view profiles, etc. I've tried doing the following fix:

"Exit Steam.
Click Start > Run (or Windows Key + R)
Type inetcpl.cpl and click OK.
Click the Connections tab.
Click the LAN settings button.

Note: You may want to write down the settings currently found in this window if you need to undo these steps later.

If any items on this window are checked, uncheck them.
Click OK to close any open windows and restart your computer.
Now, launch Steam and test the issue."

But it doesn't work. Whenever I uncheck the "use automatic configuration script" box and exit, it instantly checks itself again. Tried restarting my hub and my computer and it still wont work.

I think it is a browser error code in the steam client you talk about?
I tought an error in steam software when I read the title.

I assume this is also in the normal web browser.
only the store or other steam pages too?

open the windows host file with notepad and check if there are steam and valve entiries there.
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

do you have an administrator user account in windows?

Hi, I managed to fix it. I deleted a browser add-on I use called "Hola" which allows me to use an american proxy on some websites to get content outwith my country (I use it for video websites where certain videos are blocked in certain countries).

Upon deleting it, it appears to have fixed my problem.

Thanks anyway!

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2289942

just get firefox and use the proxy setting in that , it is not system wide like the other browser..

You don't need to delete Hola, just turn it off.

I've been trying to find a solution to this problem for over a week now. For some reason I had a proxy set. Thank you!
