How do I run Garry's Mod with DirectX 11?

It runs on DirectX 9 but I can't downgrade to it so how do I run GMod on DirectX 11? Using Windows 8 by the way.

It does not support DX11. It runs DX9 like most old games.

on dx9 I can do dx7 on my w7 64 bit too.

Click PLAY. You obviously don't grasp the concept of the max DirectX version supported by system vs. max DirectX version supported by game so just click play and play and don't worry about technical details.

I get an error saying I need DX9.

every DX version has all the previous versions of DX
so if you have 11 you have 9 too.
backwards compatibility.

When I launch the game though I get an error and sent to Microsoft's website to download DX9?

How did you fix it? I haven't been able to play GMod all day because of this error.

I dont get a garry error , but I would probably fix it reading the garry mod forum 99% of the time.

Well I've only found one post claiming to have a fix for this error containing a link but when I went to the site it was just a spammy survey site

some bin or dll file yeah. other managed to download it.

must be a better solution somewere there always is.

The first thing to try is new video card drivers. What GPU do you own? Do not get a virus trying to fix this.
