You could find your graphics card is overheating and causing graphic anomalies which will progressively get worst over time or it has been physically damaged and getting corrupted. The same can go for the monitor itself or just a single broken cable.
Ensure airflow to your computer and clean out any dust.
Run your fingers down the monitor's cable, gently with a slight bend, it the monitor suddenly flickers or goes blank, replace that cable. However, due to it only affecting some games and not the OS or boot itself, it's highly unlikely to be the cause, but still good to check.
Do you have VSync on in the games? Attempt to disable it, you might get some screen rips but it could fix the original issue.
Disable OpenGL and see if that's the cause?
Try the game in a window box (not full screen) and see if it still occurs?
The lagging is definitely something new, but it probably is because I got a free recording software to show you what was happening. I'm not very knowledgeable about computers, so sorry if this is a really dumb question. How exactly does one disable an OpenGL?
How do I disable openGL?
