Video Overscan on full screen
Whenever I try to watch a fullscreen video in any Steam's game page it overscans my screen, showing like 1/4 of the actual image. It only happens when I watch videos in Steam, not for the actual games or anything else.
I have a 1080 TV connected to the HDMI port and I can't figure out what can be the problem, as all the other platforms like Youtube, Vimeo or whatever else don't give me any kind of issue when going fullscreen.

Has anyone had a similar problem? please give me some ideas. Thanks in advance.

I've had the same problem. I'm running windows 8.1 with a 1080TV via HDMI as monitor too. Same experience where videos on other platforms are playing correctly. Let me know if you've found a work around.. I have no clue.

Same issue connected HDMI to a 47". Only seems to be when I fullscreen videos through the steam client. Again showing 1/4th of the video (The top left quadrant). Rather annoying and hope there is a fix out there soon.

I have the same issue and have had it for awhile now. Running on a 720p 26" tv.

Wonder if it's a driver issue? I am running nVidia GTX 460M latest drivers (335.23). What video cards are you guys using?

overscan is a refresh rate issue. Ensure your game is using the correct refresh rate for your monitor.

It's steam itself not a game. When trying to view video's within steam of games that you want to possible buy or the new Free to Play movie, etc...

I don't think it's the drivers, mine's an ATI 7870

Yeah I have this problem too. Quite annoying and nothing I do changes or fixes it. Full screen videos on the steam client only show the top left 1/4 of the screen.

I found a way that worked for me:

- Exit Steam
- Go to the steam executable, most likely it with be at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe
- Right click on the executable and go to properties.
- In the Compatibility tab, check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
- Log back on steam, the UI will be smaller, but the video will fit the screen perfectly.

Try adjusting your over/underscan slider in driver config. Try adjusting your monitor's scaling option.
