Fable - The Lost Chapters Crashing
So I recently bought Fable - The Lost Chapters, and I've been having some trouble with freezing and crashing. It occurs at the start of when you join the hero guild, during the melee training. RIGHT after the guildmaster gives you a stick to hit the training dummy with, the game freezes/crashes and displays this message (It's an image of the message, not a virus, honest): http://gyazo.com/6925b9ad6751455c3226937724437425.png

I've already contacted Steam Support, just wondering if anyone else had this problem and was able to fix it. When I validate the file cashe, it DOES say "1 files failed to validate and will be reacquited," but it doesnt fix anything. Do I need to wait a while after it says it has found the file to replace? Because I have just been hitting 'close' after it says it is finished.

You might try asking the Fable - The Lost Chapters game hub discussions if any of them have experienced this problem.

Looks like something is wrong with the code if it is always crashing at the same spot in the same way, try completely uninstalling it and re-installing i guess :/

It could be due to runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing.

Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ Packages...

If using 32 bit OS, try the following:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Install the oldest first. I would suggest you not to uninstall the version of C++ as different program use different versions and removing may lead the program to crash. Most come with the game and install only upon the first time running of it. You might be able to find it under the game.

For 64 bit OS, do same as above but also include:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64)
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15336

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

There's also 2005 for really old games, but shouldn't be required. However, ensure you get the Service Packs for each as well, they mostly contain security and bug fixes. Windows update should list these after the reboot.

Another possible issue is the graphics card not supporting pixel shaders required for the game. Attempt to update your graphic drivers as well and ensuring your system means game requirements.

Make sure your video card isn't on the unsupported list:
