Wrong State/Province names..

Is this meant to be like this or am i missing something???
Nearly all the locations names are wrong and are missing some for New Zealand.. I've known this for a while but have seen nothing done about it..

I don't want to necro this thread but I came across it while searching for the same issue. I mean come on, I live in Auckland yet there's no main city names? They don't even have our capital under the names. They legit divided our suburbs into their own states/provinces when NZ doesn't even have states or provinces... This would be such a nice fix

I don't want to necro this thread but I came across it while searching for the same issue. I mean come on, I live in Auckland yet there's no main city names? Valve gets a lot of that data from geonames.org, which has a link at the bottom of almost every page. It's down there ↓.

and so there's no way we can actually try to get them to change it? and I just went and had a look at that myself, the information deisplaye is nothing near what they've put on steam. I can actually see our cities etc there...

It gets updated but it's pretty infrequent. Low on the totem pole and all.

Still not fixed and it's been 4 years. I've contacted Steam support but i'm going to have to have it escalated further.

The list hasn't been updated from the geonames site to Steam far longer than this thread has been here.

Do you have any way of getting through to them to fix it? It's insulting. Imagine the news "Large game distribution platform 'Steam' doesn't give a frack about New Zealand:

Valve hasn't made efforts to update that list in.. forever. They know about it, but really it's small potatoes compared to other issues.

Valve knows. Support will tell you to post in the forums. Your country is not the only one with missing or wrong names.

Hopefully when the UI update is complete, this will be resolved.
