Steam denying my Paypal purchase.
So I'm trying to buy a game, more specifically "Long Live the Queen", for $4.99 with my Paypal account that I've been using to buy games off steam for about a year now.

Today, it won't let me purchase anything, it keeps saying "An unexpected error has occured" and no other data. My CC isn't maxed out (Infact, it barely has anything charged to it), and I can use my Paypal acc on other online transactions, so I know it isn't something on my side.

Is there some mystic ritual I have to invoke upon so that Valve would now start taking my money to render a service I'm paying for?

maybe you always used a card to buy with that paypal account?

is your paypal verified?

Yeah, I always use my CC to buy stuff and my account's been verified. I've bought close to a dozen games here with this without any problems before this.

it sounds like a normal bug than try in a few hours or in the morning.
is there money in the paypal or do you want to paypal to take money from your bank?

Ohhh, I see. Thanks.

As for money, no. My transactions here are charged as credit instead of debit.

but I got a recent mail from paypal saying they can take directly from my bank now.
but I think it is your problem.

here a bit from my paypal email
We would like to inform you that PayPal has begun using the new SEPA direct debit system for your PayPal purchases. In accordance with new European regulations, the SEPA direct debit mandate allows you to pay with PayPal directly using your bank account.

Ohh, I see. Well Steam in general is not processing my request entirely now, keeps saying "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance." so I'll probably wait to see if I can try again. Thanks anyway though.

you usually need to give transacion failures an hour or more to clear.

Okay, so after much mucking about, it was a problem on my end (I forgot my CC was set to expire on Jan 2014, so it took it off the active CC list automatically). Fixed now and thanks for everything.
