Windows update killed my framerate on any games
Hi, I downloaded this month's updates last weekend through windows update. Problem is that it totally destroyed my framerate on all my games to the point some were barely playable, 20fps on WarThunder or Arma3 ain't gonna make it...

Since I didn't know what caused this at first I decided tp format and make a clean install. I played some CSGO yesterday and to my relief everything worked great. Although before going to bed I started windows update and let it install all the updates.

Problem is that my framerate is now back again to its pre format status which is at least a 50% loss of performances.

Am I the only one having this issue?

I'm running windows 7 Basic, last Catalyst drivers and everything is up to date.

what what what?
I tought pre update it was good?

I have no problems with the lastest windows update.
maybe the malicious software removal tool triggered something.

run a quick scan with the free malwarebytes scanner.

Installation is fresh, there can't be any malware.

It's definitely windows update which caused this. Last week's update... I reformulated my sentence it didn't make much sense. Sorry for my poor english.

yeah right that is a silly thing to say.
an online computer can get malware in nano seconds.

I didn't do anything but play a bit of CSGO and update the computer yesterday.

whatever.

if you just have a virus scanner protecting you you just dont know untill you check.
it will not cost you anything to check with a malware scanner.

@crazy

Well yeah, if by fresh I mean I just formated, installed windows, drivers, Steam, CSGO and used windows udpate before going to bed after having worked my ass off all day. I'm pretty sure it's not a malware.

@spoof

Sure, I'm just wondering first if anyone is having issues with the last windows 7 updates.

I was so relieved when CSGO ran just like it should yesterday, and this morning I want to play a game and it's gone full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ again.

does not make sense to me.

the recent updates were only 14 if you did a fresh windows install yesterday you had 200 updates.

whatever :)

Well because the issue showed up first after the last updates first before I formated...

Anyway my windows 7 is SP1 with all the updates till january. So I definitely didn't have 200 updates, and CSGO worked great yesterday right after I reinstalled it before I authorized windows update to download the remaining updates.

remove the updates , they all come with install dates or check your windows update history.
simple solution.

Which is all 14/02 for me as for now.

Well that's what I'm gonna do I guess... What a pain in the ass though.

Thanks anyway.

start>control panel>programs features>view installed updates.
no pain at all not that many to remove.
